The Nostalgia Machine is a piece of software that accepts audio input and chops it up into random bits that can be cued at will. In its current incarnation, the Machine supports two loaded channels of audio cues (though only one playing back at a time) and controls for the speed of the audio playback. When audio is loaded into the Machine, the exact source as well as the positions within that source are completely randomized. The user of the Machine has to think and act quickly in order to make aural sense of the jumbled source material.

The Machine is most effective as a performance tool when the user feeds it a temporally cohesive yet eclectic pool of source material. The Nostalgia Team's first efforts using the Machine thus revolved around the Billboard Year-end Hot 100 charts. This particular performance consists of:

Dick Fiasc0 mixes Hot 100 hits from 1999, 2000, and 2006
Kevin mixes his own work, both released and unreleased tracks.
Mexican Standoff // mixes a cross-section of 1980s pop, Cumbia, and miscellaneous selections from his personal library of music.
